Patients who want to look younger and more vibrant will appreciate the benefits of Sculptra. This injectable is an effective way to combat signs of facial aging, restoring lost skin volume naturally by stimulating the production of collagen. Patients can learn more about what Sculptra in New Jersey is all about by reaching out to Geria Dermatology.
What Is Sculptra?
Sculptra is a minimally invasive cosmetic treatment used to treat moderate and harsh wrinkles. It can also restore volume to areas of the patient’s face that have become hollow and gaunt, like the jawline, cheeks, and temples.
Sculptra is a poly-L-lactic acid injectable. While many people call it a dermal filler, the more accurate term is actually “collagen stimulator.” It increases production of fibroblasts in the skin tissues, which in turn increases collagen protein production. This gradually restores natural volume to fill in aging issues.
Who Is in Need of Sculptra?
Most people are excellent candidates for Sculptra. Patients who are concerned about signs of aging but do not want to undergo a surgical cosmetic procedure are ideal candidates.
If you are currently pregnant or breastfeeding, Sculptra may not be an ideal option for you. Patients who are prone to developing keloids may also not be good candidates for this injectable treatment. If you currently have a skin infection, it must be fully treated before coming in for Sculptra injections.
Your Consultation
Before getting Sculptra, patients will need to schedule a consultation. The details of the treatment will be explained to them during their visit, and the areas of concern will be examined. Questions will be asked about the patient’s general health, medical history, and cosmetic goals.
Your Sculptra Session
Sculptra treatments can be performed in the comfort of our office and will not take more than 20 to 30 minutes. Patients simply relax while the injectable is injected into the target areas. Topical numbing cream may be applied to the skin beforehand.
Sculptra Aftercare
There is no significant downtime or recovery period involved following a Sculptra session. Patients can return to whatever they were doing beforehand, and this treatment can even be done during the patient’s lunch break.
Patients will be advised to avoid too much exposure to heat and any activity that would place excessive strain on their bodies. An ice pack can be used to help ameliorate any swelling in the area.
The results of Sculptra can last for anywhere from two to five years. Results develop gradually over two to six months as new collagen is produced in the treatment areas.
How Much Does Sculptra Cost?
Sculptra treatments can vary in cost depending on several factors, such as the severity of the aging signs being treated. Patients can learn about the price of their treatment during their consultation.
