Maria Amar, PA-C, is a board-certified Physician Assistant at Geria Dermatology specializing in both medical and cosmetic dermatology. She is passionate about providing thoughtful, individualized care and believes that patient education is an essential part of achieving the best possible outcomes.
Maria earned her Bachelor of Science in Health Science from Hofstra University, graduating cum laude, and her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from MCPHS University. After completing clinical training across multiple medical specialties throughout the Boston area, she pursued advanced training through a dermatology fellowship program. She went on to practice dermatology in the New York City area, gaining extensive experience caring for patients of diverse backgrounds and skin types.
Maria’s approach to dermatology combines evidence-based medicine with an appreciation for each patient’s individual concerns and goals. She takes the time to explain diagnoses and treatment options so patients feel comfortable, informed, and actively involved in decisions about their care. Her experience in both medical and cosmetic dermatology allows her to take a comprehensive approach to skin health while helping patients achieve results that feel natural and personalized.
Maria remains actively involved in the dermatology community as a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.
