Microneedling, otherwise known as percutaneous collagen induction therapy, is a relatively new, minimally invasive treatment that can be used to address several cosmetic concerns. Microneedling uses tiny needles to create “microchannels” in the skin. This stimulates the wound-healing cascade, resulting in new collagen and elastin production. Elastin and collagen are proteins that facilitate the remodeling of the skin tissues, which ultimately improves the health of the skin and clears away imperfections.
At Geria Dermatology, we use the SkinPen for our microneedling procedure. The SkinPen is a microneedling device that received clearance from the FDA after being clinically proven to be an effective and safe treatment option for skin issues.
Our patients who have received microneedling in New Jersey have experienced some of the following benefits:
Microneedling is a wonderful treatment for so many of our clients but does wonders for anyone who has the following criteria.
Please note that if you are currently using acne medication or a topical retinoid prescription, we recommend waiting a while before getting microneedling in New Jersey.
The first step in getting microneedling in New Jersey is to contact our clinic and schedule your free consultation with one of our technicians. During your appointment, you will be able to discuss any concerns you have, address your desires for the micro-needling treatment, and receive an evaluation.
After you get the run-down of what your treatment will be like, if you agree with the assessment, you will be able to schedule your treatment and be provided with a pricing guide for the treatment plan.
A SkinPen microneedling treatment begins with the application of topical anesthesia to the targeted region. This numbs the region to any discomfort. Next, the SkinPen device is passed over the treatment areas to create even results. Any serums administered penetrate deeper into the skin tissues through the microchannels, improving their efficacy.
Typically, the procedure takes about 30-60 minutes but it can vary based on every individual case.
Immediately after the treatment, you will notice a bright redness on the skin. The total healing time depends on the settings used and the number of overlapping passes needed for your skin’s condition. Treatments are usually well tolerated and most patients can return to work the very next day. For two to three days, you may notice mild swelling, redness, and flaking.
How much?
The cost of microneedling in New Jersey will vary depending on multiple factors, such as how many sessions you will require and the surface area which will require treatment. After they can examine your skin and listen to your needs, you will be given an accurate cost breakdown.
